Rs.12,00,000.00 during 2008-09 under MODROB scheme for Micro Architecture Design Lab.

Welcome to Computer Science Department

Computer Science & Engineering Department was established in the year 1986 with an intake of 60 students and increased to 120 students. The department is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and approved by AICTE, New Delhi and one of the core departments in the institution. The department is committed to continuously improve the quality of education by enhancing the knowledge of student and staff members.

The department has well equipped laboratories having the latest configurations of Computers and software tools with state-of-the-art infrastructure, department library and internet facility, and have a hadoop laboratory, supported by experienced & dedicated staff.

The department offers B.E, M.Tech, M.Tech (QIP) programs, conducts soft skills and aptitude training classes, and recognized as a “Research Center” by VTU. The department has MOU with EMC2, Infosys, TCS, and Accure etc.

We educate tomorrow’s innovators, conduct cutting-edge research in most of the principle areas of the field, and lead a broad range of multi-disciplinary initiatives that demonstrate the transformative power of computer science and computer engineering.

Short term Goals

Achieving 100% Results in all Semesters

Introducing Innovative Teaching Technologies and Outcome Based Learning.

All the Faculties in the department to register to Ph.D. Program.

Promotion of R&D Activities in Science and Technology with special emphasis on emerging domain.

To encourage all the faculty members and the students to publish the papers in reputed journals with good impact factor.

To Conduct FDP/Workshop programs on emerging topics to reduce academics and industrial gap.

Long term Goals

Establishing center of excellence for the departments as per the relevant research areas.

Establishing and Set-up of Recognized Cloud Computing Laboratory with one of the reputed industry by MOU.

To give Support to the surrounding villages to the farming and other social issues by using Information Technology.

Program Outcomes

Engineering knowledge: Apply the Knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Engineering Fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of Complex Engineering Problems.

Problem analysis: Identify, Formulate, Review research literature and analyse complex engineering problems substantiated Conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for Complex Engineering Problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and Safety ,and the cultural ,societal ,and environmental considerations.

Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern tool usage: Create, select and Apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the Contextual Knowledge to assess societal, health, Safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering Practice.

Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large ,such as, being able to comprehend and writ effective reports and design documentation ,make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and Understanding of the engineering management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments
